Paul Maddox, BID Chairman

Paul Maddox, The Scales & Three Spires Coffee Shop

I am pleased to be the Chairman of the Lichfield BID steering group. I moved to Lichfield 20 years ago and have invested in two businesses in the city centre and I’m currently looking to invest even more. I’m very passionate about the city and represent it at various meetings locally and nationally.

I am the Chairman of ‘Lichfield Town Safe’ which incorporates ‘Lichfield Pub Watch I meet regularly with Staffordshire Police and the local authority, I’m involved with Lichfield Bower, Lichfield tourism and also Lichfield Chamber of Trade.

I’ve recently been in contact with the new Defence medical training centre Whittington. (Whittington barracks) to promote Lichfield and why some of their throughput of approximately 7000 staff should come and live, shop and socialise in the city. I’m a strong minded person and believe that I as Chair along with the steering group would move Lichfield forward to its next level.

I have already started to promote the BID to various businesses in the city and was the first person to mention a BID together with Best Bar None and the Purple Flag awards to the councils joint operation group some 4 years ago; the best bar none scheme which is a recognised and approved scheme by the government is finally going to be rolled out throughout Staffordshire and I will be the representative from Lichfield.

To sum up this demonstrates my commitment passion and overall determination that I have for our wonderful city.
